Such an exciting story. We had a train go of the rails in my little home town, don't know what caused it. Everyone was running to the tracks to get the little toys that had spilled out. I don't think anyone was hurt. This is very well done, hope you do well in the contest. Rox

It's not a nice thing when it happens these days. Too many people get hurt. At least the trains went slower in my story's time, so there was less risk. Thanks, Rox, for reading my story poem, I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)) Sandra xxx

What an absolutely beautiful story. And to tell it in such a skillfully crafted poem is amazing. I love the picture that you found to go with it. I can just hear this being sung with a guitar in the background. Good luck in the contest.

What a great idea Sandra, and good luck in the contest. This was enjoyable and actually educational to read. It had a great flow and a wonderful rhyme pattern. I liked the concept of the story behind the poem. Two very compassionate boys that became successful in their lives. Very well done. Blessings, hugs and smiles.

Thank you, Alie, for this lovely review. I'm glad you enjoyed this story in my poem. I used to enjoy train spotting, and would often go with my younger brother. Big hugs, dear friend. :))) Sandra xx

Hello Sandra. You did two things I believe are fundamental to good poetry. You made it rhyme and YOU TOLD A STORY. Poetry that doesn't tell a story is just a collection of words in my opinion. (I make some people mad when I say that) I loved this. The reward for the boys is magnificent! Well Done. Robert

You are a man after my own heart, Robert. I have entered so many poetry contests only to find the winners are 'poems' written in prose. Can you imagine Longfellow writing his epic rhyming poems today? And all the other rhyming famous poets of yesteryear putting up with this? Thank you so very much for this amazing review and for the lovely golden stars. I really appreciate them. :)) Sandra xx

I love your story/poem. It's well-written, very interesting start to finish. You had me on the edge of my seat, hoping that it'd turn out alright. The ending is perfect. I knew I saved this six for a reason. Good luck with your contest.

This is a wonderful entry for the contest. It is nostalgic, bringing back the days of railroad travel. And it's appeal is one that can touch the hearts of young and old alike. It's full of adventure and excitement. And it tells a grand storyof boys with bravery. Good job. Should do well in the contest.

What a lovely review, June, thank you so much. I saw a picture of a steam train, and it took me back to my train spotting days with my brother. When I think of how long ago that was, it rather frightened me!! Lol. Thanks again, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

I love the ballad style you chose to tell your story, Sandra. It's a marvelous poem, using your skill to weave an exciting tale that holds the reader's interest from beginning to end.
The boys' reward is better than a medal.
Good luck in the contest.

Hi Julia, I just wanted to thank you so very much for this really lovely review, and on top of that, all the lovely stars! I'm so happy you enjoyed it. I know most boys would love to ride the footplate of steam train, more than a medal. Even I would have done! Thanks, my friend. :)) Sandra xx
