Thank you so much, Dolly! I just remembered standing on the bridge as a child with my brother, waiting for the driver to pull the whistle chain. That's as far as the story went for us. No crashes and no getting to ride the footplate! I'm delighted you enjoyed my poem, thank you! :)) Sandra xx

That's a wonderful story told in rhyme. Is it based on a true story? It's not hard to imagine something like this happening. I like that the second train was able to stop and help the first one.

Thank you, Cindy! No, it's not based on a true story, well, half of it is. My brother and I would go train spotting and come home filthy, much to Mum's annoyance! lol. But no crash and no ride on the footplate. :(

This is an interesting story. Filled with the suspense of how the passengers on a wrecked train will get rescued before the next scheduled train would be arriving. Luckily, it all worked out fine!
