A "SALUTE," nomi338! In one word, "AWESOME." The message you send out is "CRYSTAL CLEAR" to Cathy and I. The image by "Bing.com" is "ASTONISHING." We read your Profile "ABOUT"...extremely impressive. Have a great week, best wishes and God Bless. Respectfully with Admiration, Cathy and Bill.

Thank you so much. You would not believe the grief I received from one reviewer who swore that I stole or at least attempted to steal credit for a story that I did not create. I swore that I only retold a story that I heard and was impressed by. I believe that even if I told a true story about my life, there would probably be at least ten people on this site that could tell the same story, lesson: there are almost no original stories left to tell. No one alive today can tel a story about human interaction that has not been told before. Thanks for the review and listening to my rant.

A 2nd "SALUTE," nomi338! Abraham Lincoln, 16th President of the United States (1809-1865) attributed "You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time." Concluding, "People who live in glass houses...should not throw stones!" Great hearing from you, our dear friend. Best wishes as you walk along the pathway of life and God Bless. Respectfully with Admiration, Cathy and Bill.

Yes, yes. Sometimes the pious can't see the forest for the trees. In this case, any port in a storm might be close enough. Recognize, people.

If you ask for help, accept it when it comes, worry about who provided it after you are safe.
Comment from Thomas Bowling
I laughed out loud at this. It reminds me of the roofer who was sliding off a roof. All the way he cried out, "God, save me."
Just before going off, his pants got caught by a nail and he stopped sliding. He yelled, "Never mind, God, a nail's got me."

Priceless. We are willing to credit anybody or anything but the only one with the real power to save us.

I think that I have heard variations on this story before. It is a powerful expression of the way in which we need to temper our view of the supernatural with a little commonsense!

Let me start by saying this is not my story, I am only recounting a story I hear before with my own spin. I have already been accused of plagiarism. Thank you for your comments.

I liked the wit and humor in this one, definitely a nice twist at the end, and a good moral too; Don't look for someone to wave a magic wand over you. God is not a magician. He has to work within the rules He created for this world. estory

So true. Thank you for a really great review.

I think we fail to see the help God sends our way. Maybe we were expecting the package to look differently. Well penned and a great reminder within.
Sending you my best today as always,
Sally :+)

What an idiot! He must like being wet and cold. It seems to be a story of future expectation while ignoring salvation presented in the here and now. He is wasting perfectly good opportunities. God comes in many guises, we don't call the shots.
I see you came in for some flak from other reviewers. To me, the message of your story is a strong one that deserves to be read. Thank you for writing it so concisely.

Thank you LisaMay. The thing that hurt me most was the assumption that I sought to mislead reviewers by trying to pretend that I am dishonest enough to claim credit for something I did not write. I simply tried to write an amusing story that teaches a lesson. It's not like I am getting paid for the story.

Exactly. I appreciate that. Some people just like to pick on others or have a grumble.

Hi there,
it may be an idea to insert a clear line between each paragraph for the sake of readability. It makes it clearer and more easily to follow.
Thomas said "it's Ok, God will save me."- probably should have some punctuation before the dialogue kicks in here. (for the next two times Thomas replies as well)
It's a pretty foreseeable conclusion but presented well. Sometimes one cannot see the woods for the trees.

LOL! I heard a similar story from one of my favorite spiritual mentors once. It's like I tell the cancer patients I spend time with - God absolutely can heal you instantly, but sometimes He is trying to teach us something in the trial or ordeal we suffer; sometimes He wants us to SEE the signs and follow their guidance :). Well done and thank you very much for sharing it.

Thank you for your story. It seems at times we rely just a bit too much on faith. I suspect we have some part to play in outcomes. It reminds me of a similar story. A man said, "God please let me win the lottery." Over and over he prayed to win the lottery and it never happened. Finally he said "God, I've prayed to win the lottery, why have you not given me that?" In God's wise voice he called back, "You have to meet me half-way. You have to buy a lottery ticket." Thanks again for your writing efforts, well done.

Thank you. Some of the writing police here on the site, not the site admins, mind you. Some have been so busy calling me out for plagiarism rather than getting the message. After all what is important? The message, I was not entered into a contest to make money or win or prize.

I saw nothing that suggests anything but your thoughts. I enjoyed it very much and found it refreshing.
