Glad to find another of your fantasy art poems. I read this one through a couple of times and I love the way it works in with the painting. I see you have three out. I'll hunt down the other one.

You are really welcome back with this ekphrastic tankaesque piece. The picture is as much an artistic metaphor as the the tanka is a litereary one. It makes me long for spring again and we are only just entering autumn. You will have me wishing my life away.

This is a respectable contest entry. The picture you chose to complement the poem is gorgeous. The poem itself is well written. I especially liked the line "ballerinas leap and glide.

-Nice artwork, Pam.
-Notes are appreciated.
-I like the title and
comparison in the poem
of the daffodils to a ballet.
-The imagery and personification are good.
-A good pivot line,
and the ending lines
are vivid and show the colors
and movement of the flowers well.
-Thanks for sharing.

The analogy of daffodils and dancing remind me of the famous poem by William Wordsworth, 'I wondered lonely as a cloud,' A host of golden daffodils dancing like ballerinas in the breeze, you always bring your magical imagination to your words and your art Pam, we have missed you on here, love Dolly x

This is a wonderful complement of poetry and art!
My favorite line is "Ballerinas leap and glide."
You make excellent use of metaphor, and your illustration is perfection. (The ballerinas are adorable.)
Brava, Pam!

This is a great post. I like both the painting and the poem.
Daffodils are my favourite flowers. I have some in my garden.
Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest.

"Tanka (daffodil ballet)", is a well-written and deftly descriptive piece. This talented poet tells it as she sees it. I look forward to reading your next post.

A very well-written Tanka featuring the daffodil ballerinas doing their routine in the woods in front of the leaf forest, their red eyes dancing around in the breeze.
