We all grieve in different ways, sometimes it takes a long time and sometimes we move on more quickly. Queen Victoria wore black for the remainder of her days when her beloved Albert died. Your words are poignant and powerful here, love Dolly x

Grief, I feel, is one emotion made worse because it?s so final. Feeling better can only come with time and even then it has a habit of catching up and tapping you on the shoulder.
Thank you so much for taking the time to review my poem and for the stars. Very much appreciated: )

Doesn't go away entirely - especially when it's a dear member of your family - or a close friend. It is quiet, sneaks up on a person, when they're not expecting it.
Good poem

No it doesn?t. It?s a sad fact of life and follows us, more as we age.
Thank you for your review, stars and kind words. Much appreciated: )

You have made excellent use of all syllables in this powerful, poetic statement about grief. After a devastating loss, as time passes, the grief may fade to a degree, but situations, words spoken, even the words of a song can bring it right back.

A very well-written heartfelt 1-5-7 poem about grief that comes when we lose someone close to our hearts and it seems never to leaves us again after all the years.

Yes, I agree. Grief will always be there somewhere. It lessens over time and can be almost forgotten and then it suddenly appears albeit in a milder form. I Liked your wee poem and good luck. All the best. Ulla:)))

You have described grief perfectly for many people. One hopes that with time it passes, but often it "revisits forever, " especially on anniversaries. We'll done in only 13 syllables. Rod

It's amazing that your brief poem in 7-5-7 scheme, says so much of proper understanding of the Holy Bible about eternal judgment.
Allow me to quote:
"Grief...
...guest of early days...
re-visiting forever."

In my faithful reading of Scripture, and of seeing proper interpretation confirmed again and again, I read about the minority who get hell correct, of its figurative language. For example, Luke, chapter 16 verses 16 to 18 ( I believe it is) and the fire torturing the rich man's tongue. This ought to give a strong clue of the fire as spiritual, and how the rich man called for the deprived man Lazarus, to come from Heaven, dip his finger in water, and cool the man's tongue "that is burning in this flame."

How about the victim having defaulted both by omission, and by commission regarding his tongue on earth?

I could write a monograph-length paper about that. But for now, I posit for doubters of my view to consider Peter, James and John, on the Mount of Transfiguration, with Jesus, when in the radiation state of extrordinary light, viewed the momentary presence of persons once again in earth dimensions of mass, space and time. They soon returned to the fourth dimension, but how can biblical literalists miss the main point of that revelation?

In short, your poem of a tormenting conscience fits my belief that hell is a tortured conscience.

Paul, the Apostle, writes in First Timothy 5: 25 ( I believe it is, "Some men's sins are open, going beforehand to judgment; [and] some men's sins follow after.."

I've witnessed examples of that myself.

Thanks for reading.

Don

Grief can last a long time over the death or otherwise loss of a loved one. It can even be caused by a different type of bad experience that seems to linger on long after it should. This brief poem captures that feeling.

This makes me wish I had a six or even s seven or an eight. Having lost two sons I experience this in a way 99% of the population cannot understand. I have done my own writings about grief and have had many of them published, but none of them say it as well as your seven words .

Oh bless you. I cannot imagine the depth of your pain. I lost my mother recently and before that my husband then my brother. It hurts like hell at times as I?m sure you can appreciate and time does not diminish the core of it..just smooths the outer shell. I hope you find peace after the loss of your boys...my heart goes out to you.
Thank you for your fantastic review...it means more to me than you know x

I also like the artwork, it's trippy and looks like repeated patterns of grief. The poem is nicely written. It invokes a well-known repeated emotion, we all experience at one time or another. Good luck.
