Dear Mystery Poet,
Bless your heart. I know what it's like to lose a beloved pet. It's one of the hardest things a family has to do. Especially if there are kids involved. YUCK!
I do wonder if the CEC will let this poem pass inspection, though. As I understand it, these poems are supposed to be about the death of a pet OR saying goodbye to one. This poem is really sad, for sure, and about how your sweetie has ALMOST died four times - but you tell him he CAN'T die. I'm wondering if that will work?
You might want to read the contest requirement closely to make sure you're complying. (You may even have to reword the poem a little until the voting is complete and then you can change it back to the way you really want it. Make sense?)

that's okay, I'm dealing with him dying every time I watch him walk. I just thought I would put out a bit different view on the death of a pet, knowing that the pet is close to death and have previously grieved 4 times. thxs anyways for the tip
