This is really cute. Clever premise. I like how the "king" is her dad, and of course she is the family princess. I also like that TJ can talk to her, and he helps her with things, so they are good for each other. Smart of Mom to see that. :)

This meets the contest requirements nicely as you deliver a complete story beginning with "I voted" and did not go over the appropriate word cunt allotted. The content is cute and clever. Good luck in the voting and thank you very much for sharing it.

Hello mystery writer. Very enjoyable narrative. I particularly like it because it is an eight-year-old telling the story. She did it well. It's a great story and the best part is that Joelle uses "sparkly ink." That's hard to compete with. Excellent story. Robert

Good read, interesting twist and turns 'just like a child would speak, well presented, i like the imaginary princess like personality, it is a very good story and well told as an eight year old, intelligent and smart young character you have created.
Well done and good luck!

You will draw many readers in when they see the story is told through a child's perspective, to later find out she is only eight years old. This genre invites the reader to reminisce about how things went for them when they were around eight. I was sent to my room a lot so I could identify with Princess. I'm sure I would be very much like Princess who could see something in TJ that no one else could. I've always rooted for the underdog. Probably because I was one and knew how terrible it felt. You may draw some similar reflections from the readers. It's some of these uncomfortable experiences which inspire. My books Be Wee With Bea 1&2 address the longterm effects of being bullied and how we work to triumph. This is a very good topic with the word count regulation you did very well.

Wow, Liz, what a wonderful review!! I am so very glad you found what I was trying to do with this story... and to be compared with sweet Bea? What an honor!! Thank you for this lovely and detailed review -- it means a lot to me, ma'am -- here's wishing you (and Bea, Sweet Puppy, and the whole gang!!) an awesome conclusion to the week! ;)

I enjoyed your contest entry, Mystery Author, from the perspective of the 8 year old girl. She tell sit just like it is. She doesn't see TJ as 'different' just as he doesn't see her 'different.' This is a great lesson that all can learn from. Thanks for sharing and best wishes. Respectfully with Admiration. Jan
