This meets the contest requirements nicely as you tell a complete story beginning with the appropriate opening statement in the word count allotted. You have a small typo:
"as the realization hid him forcefully." - should be 'hit' him.

Yikes. . .the choices we make in life. Thank goodness most all of us grow up without anything like this happening to them or to others because of our choices. I think changing our laws has helped detur many, it sure did me. Being responsible for another person's demise has got to be difficult to live with and life-changing in itself. Nice writing.

Thanks for the insightful review. I know, how much easier is it to call a cab to take you safely home?
Apparently, texting and driving causes more deaths than drunk driving these days. I always wonder what is sooooo important on their phone to risk such devestation? Lol, not! Cheers.
