Ain't nothing but strong writing here and vivid detail. Example:

"She ran erratically, cutting sharp turns and weaving around trees, hoping to gain some distance. In her efforts to escape, she lost her footing on a broken branch and fell to the ground. Trembling with fear, she pushed herself up on her hands and knees. Forcing her eyes to look up, she came face to face with the wolfish fiend as it crouched before her. Its breath was warm against her skin and it smelled like rotting flesh."

What a chapter. It starts out so sweet in the beginning with a romantic night between lovers then quickly turns into a do or die. It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. The chapter is very well-written, so descriptive I could easily picture it in my mind.

This one was fun to create, knowing it's all make believe and in the end... good always wins. I do like reading books with suspense and thrills, so writing scenes like this one is spooky, but so much thrilling when I add the good guys coming in to put an end to evil.
