I see the fairy! Seems like you're adding more to mythology and merging them with stories about fairies! It has a good moral to the story and it's good they all can understand each other's language!

Thanks for reading, Helen.

A very well-written story about making mistakes is one of the most natural thing we can do. There will always be room for improvement in anything we do, we will make mistakes but that is all part of the growing process.

The gorgeous fairy picture is showing on my computer. Your story connects to it beautifully. I especially like the compassion shown by the characters. It is a lovely posting. :-)

I see a lovely little fairy :). This story is truly delightful and would make a great bedtime story for the kiddies as it is filled with vivid imagery and contains a valuable life lesson to digest. Well done and thank you very much for sharing it.

MJ,
First of all, I see your fairy. *smile*
Second of all, no, no, no. That is NOT what happened. Nope. And you know it, too.
That is too easy. The first part is one of your sparkles of BRILLIANCE that I sooooooo adore. AMAZING as one of those stars you are talking about!!! Gives me goosebumps!
BUT - you cannot end it by going to the water and blah, blah.... (sorry - not trying to be rude, you know I'm far too honest. But it's for your own good. Take this like a writer. Ahem.)
Now. Go back to your desk. What REALLY happened?
Start after this line:
'That creature and I are not related,' he said (in a booming voice) with a (visible) shudder.
*
She could be trying to figure out what the starfish IS - comparing it to different things. She could be trying to find different ways to return it to the sky - not taking the gruff star's reply for an answer. She could.... fill in the blank. (This is your specialty, not mine.)
What do you think? If you're happy now - and satisfied. Ignore me and move on. But, if not......

Thanks for all the suggestions, Robyn. I will keep them in mind for a future story. I kind of like this one...

Yes, it's a sweet one and nice and magical - a story I'm sure the kiddies would enjoy. I know I did. The kindness and respect for life was subtle, nothing preachy in your message. Hugs, Lou

Very well done Maria, and I definitely saw a starfish. This was very creative and was a wonderful boost of inspiration for those who feel they are constantly doing something wrong. It had a great reading flow that was comfortable and enjoyable.

Sweet and magical, Maria. I loved your chosen art illustration, it made your story come alive. This would make a wonderful children's book. I would run to the printer with this one.
Sending you my best today as always,

I see your fairy with her lovely hair and gossamer wings. This is lovely, Maria, and a kind and touching story. Compassion does not get enough face time here on FS. Well done.
