Like the poem and its story. Although it could be on the sorrowful side too. Drunken driver, car crash, and then a couple and their funerals (like a true story line). I bet you shed a few tears when you wrote this....I had deep thoughts when I read it.

That's so sad. I couldn't decide whether they were in the car together or if they crashed into each other. And I hope they're not condemned to be together in death, one with someone she doesn't want and one with someone who doesn't want him.

I really like the poem and didn't need your story synopsis at the end to make understandable or feel real. That part actually spoiled it a little for me. . .that you should have so little faith in your writing, you felt a need to explain. Not so my friend. Even if it did, writing should be for your own expression and no one elses. No synopsis needed. :)

I added the synopsis because some of the reviews I received did not pick up on the storyline. It had nothing to do with my belief in my writing abilities. Appreciate the review. Yours actually makes this an All-Time Best for me. Confidentially, there have been many others as well.

Well done Brett. I enjoyed the folksy kind of story telling that your poem had to offer. The descriptions you put in your piece about the young couple the man's icy blue eyes and the woman's raven black hair make your poem sound very realistic and believable . Great job with this poem.

It is a dark picture and a dark poem which tells a horrific tale about two star-crossed lovers, together in death as they could not be together in life. The mood is consistent throughout the poem. Thanks for sharing.
