Virtual Six and wow fantastic poem!!! I really liked this and the Swamp was an excellent title. I think your explanation really was not necessary as I got all that - but better to offer it to the slower perceptive readers. I happen to really enjoy the way you wrote this in its entirety and the photo is why I clicked in to read it. Normally I say cheers and put my name - but I am still in a mourning phase - so I will just say I look forward to reading more of your writing and will be fanning you! Fonda

Something about that whole thing reminded me for the movie Ghost Rider. It was a cool poem and I could close my eyes to see every word you said

Hi Brett, this is quite a story - very imaginative revealing a great imagination. A dark story - quite gruesome, dying together ending in a swamp. A well written piece in free verse. Good entry to the contest - Good Luck - Dorothy

Brett, you verse is very good and portrays the unhappy demise of this couple ~ very imaginative to place them in the swamp (death) as you write. Very nicely done!

Dean would have been very proud of the horror described in this poem--may he rest in peace. I admired your storytelling and rhymed couplets. Best wishes in the contest- Joan

I loved your strange story in a poem... and it sure does tell a story. The fish tailin' car, the sirens, the crosses... all of these make it come alive, like movie footage. Great job!

Hi Brett. I enjoyed reading this well written and rhymed poem, but the story line is very unclear. I'll left with the questions of who lived, who died, and who is in the swamp. Best of luck in the contest. Marilyn

Glad you enjoyed this poem. They both died. But end up together in the afterlife, which is what the swamp symbolizes. Appreciate the review.
Comment from Gail Denham
oooh - spooky - and did they both end up in the flaming car - and then the swamp - I wasn't quite sure - still it's a spooky story and you wrote it very well.
