I am slowly catching up. A very engaging story line. I am really enjoying this book. They keep hopping from one problem to the next and you write with such detail I can see it all happening. Wonderful imagery.

The author notes help with the time this chapter could have occurred. The black panther reference threw me off, since I have always associated panthers with something like black jaguars in South America, but then I remembered the reference to panthers from the Little House in the Big Woods book from Laura Ingalls Wilder. This sounds like southern hospitality and friskiness continued.

Was that really a black panther? We had a leopard sneak up on my dogs right on my doorstep on our estate and five of them disappeared one by one. Bill's granddad seems to be a man who loved his moonshine and skirts. Well done
