Love this poem. You have voiced every word that is true of that time of life... you know what I mean... There are those great ideas that spark and you think 'ah yes, I'll remember' but when finally you sit down to write, that worrisome brain has let you down. So that is life and how I wish I had an appendage that worked like a computer to record all I want to remember. Over to you geniuses help us and develop that appendage.

I have a female friend who is the "appendage" for her husband AND for me, and she's only 6 months younger than I. But every time either of us can't think of a word she supplies it, and sort of lords it over us, though good naturedly. I had a trophy made for her that says, "World's all time best word supplier". She loves it. :)

I really like this light-hearted poem about YOUR writing process, Poet, and how you come up with ideas and plots and rhymes. I am sure other reviewers will tell you they have similar methods. I was especially delighted because you could tell yours in rhyme. Rod

thanks, Rod! I do, really, sometimes think in verse, and just automatically start waxing poetic. so t'ain't hard for me. (though some readers say it's hard for them to read.

What a joyful and inspired offering for this contest -- just the perfect entry, I would say!! ;) I would suggest, however, using a font size that is at least TWO sizes smaller as your flow is not as easy to follow with all the 'breaks' before lines are actually complete... ;) :) And i have a large screen so it's not my device re-formatting for size...it's the font itself. ;) :) :) Thanx for sharing and best of luck at the polls! ;)

Well, mystery writer, this one certainly addresses the theme of the contest. I love insights into the writing process of others and am a little envious of those for whom it comes easy. I also love when writers who are known for one type of writing venture into something outside there comfort zone (as it sounds like you do). Well written - good luck in the contest.

This meets the contest requirements splendidly as you walk us through where your inspiration comes from in well penned poetic style.
