Kudos! Eighty words on the dot and a lighthearted barb at those old pick up lines... Nice to know that the traditional theory is that eagles mate for life...although I'm guessing there's an aberration or three even in THAT "natural process." (Males being males)--Karenina

haha! thanks so much for your awesome comment! yes, you are allowed. Men could learn a lot from the real behavior of the male eagle. He helps build the nest, sits on the eggs, warms the eaglet and shares in finding the food!! Boy, could women use that kind of help LOL!! xoxo

A well told natural history observation of landscape, flora and fauna - and then the cruel twist of realising that majestic bird has taken on the human failings of infidelity and breach of trust. Diana, what is it about you that was so appealing to that eagle that made him want to stray??? Your eagle eyes??

Raptors are my favourite birds. Because they are big I can see them more easily. I especially love falcons. But your sea eagles in the photo are beautiful. I saw a lot of birds with that colouring in northern Australia - they were Brahminy Kites.

This eagle is our national bird! It gets a bad rap now and then because they like to snatch up farmer?s critters! But watching them soar in the heavens is mesmerizing!!! Raptors are really cool birds too!

Oh my goodness, it seems males are the same the world over. I somehow pictured bald eagles more as the Barack Obama of birds than the Bill Clinton in terms of familial loyalty.
I love the depth and clarity of your descriptions, i.e., "the majestic bird soaring," "the briny atmosphere" and the "billowy clouds." You truly enable the reader to see and feel everything you're describing.

The eagle is my favorite bird because they are so family oriented. They build nest together, they share incubating eggs and warming new eaglets and share in the search for food. They are amazing! Again thank you for always benign so supportive of my work! xoxo

I had the honor one summer to spend at the beach house across from what they call a Sanddune blowout with an Eagles nest on the other side. We saw mom and dad and they were six immatures also who came and did a circle dance above us. Also caught a mama with a fledgling at the Shoreline teaching them to eat the fish she had captured in the lake! This was on Lake Michigan shoreline about 3/4 the way up in Michigan! I?ve been in love with them ever since! I?m so glad you enjoyed this! xoxo

That's some interesting read, with a hilarious twist. An excellent use of 80 words. If I understand well, the fictional character became an eagle and is currently being wooed by a male eagle. LOL. Its comforting to know that a male eagle does not go birding around with another female once mated! I really enjoyed the story.

This meets the contest requirements splendidly as you deliver a complete and engaging story in exactly 80 words. I thought your approach was clever, using the eagles as the framework.
