A very well-written heartfelt poem about the drought that causes bush fires which cannot be taken out because their is no water to put the fire out and many people lost their properties and lives,

Thank you Sandra. I have never seen the land so dry. No spring rains yet. Twenty homes lost so far and a town wiped out. Cheers, Kay

This is an excellent poem on the situation you're experiencing in your country, Kace, and I'm so sorry for that. I hope you are safe. Your descriptions and wording convey the seriousness of the fires. I pray you get rain soon. Hugs, Marilyn

Thank you my friend. Yes, one hundred fires out of control. The Spring rains are late. One town wiped out yesterday, no casualties. I'm on the coast, no worries here. Love, Kace.

This situation has a double edge sword, on the one hand there is a drought and the other, the dry land is making it vulnerable to bush fire, I hope the rain comes soon to quell both of these problems, I enjoyed your words here, love Dolly x

Hello Dolly, Thanks for reading. I have never seen weather like this. I live near the sea, one-hundred fires now out of control inland. A lovely town on the border was wiped out last night. They are in a no win situation because there such a vast country area behind the town. Never in my lifetime have I seen such devastation. All we can do is pray. Thank you my friend, love, Kay.

Super job with your free verse poem, Kace. Forest fires are so destructive and seem to be increasing in volume and intensity each year. I am so sorry to learn your homeland is being subjected to this marauder. Ugh. Trucking water in means it is really bad.

I wish you great luck with the Contest Committee.

Hello, Bonjour ma petite fleur. Thank you for the sixer (means you liked it) I hate writing free verse. I only write rhyming quatrains for story telling. Overnight, there is now 100 fires out of control. One town on the border was wiped out; never seen this kind of weather in spring. Yesterday I took part in a mobility scooter rally to hang on to the Aust. record. We won it with 100 scooters. Canada holds the record for best country. Couldn't meet Canada @ 230 entries. Maybe it was on your TV? Love 2U Kace XXX

This is a very well written free verse poem you have penned about the fires raging in Australia due to no rain yet and drought. You used very good descriptive words and very good imagery from the art work. May God bless you and this land. Best wishes in the contest. love and blessings, Teri

This is so powerful. The reader feels the fear and torment backing up each well-written line. Fire is devastating at any time. It is just compounded when thee are so many all at one time. I pray the rains come soon. xoxo Janet

This meets the contest requirements beautifully as you deliver a well penned Free Verse. The content is heart wrenching as the vivid imagery ignites a flame of despair for the destruction being wrought on your fair country. Good luck in the judging and thank you very much for sharing it.

Good luck in the contest Kace. This had a very comfortable reading flow and also told a devastating story. Drought is terrible in itself but to add fire to that makes life intolerable.

    Most welcome Kace. Possum????

Aussies have a way of giving folks a name, meant as a form of endearment. Possums are prolific here. XXK (could of said Wombat instead, Hee, Hee.)

ahaaaaa, so I am a Possum but can I be a Wombat instead lol, I like the idea, I am honored.

Do you know Rama Devi on this site? Great reviewer, and has become a great friend. We have jokes back and forth, call her flying fox or wombat. She knows I hate being called 'dear' and she gets a serve from me. Good fun. Love, K.

You did a great job with your free verse, Aussie. Your lines flow well with great imagery. The personification adds to the fire burns without regard for anyone or anything. It I a sad situation on such a large scale. Thanks for sharing and best wishes. Jan

Hello Jan, thanks for reading. We are in dire straits with sixty fires out of control. The dust and smoke pall is dreadful. Praying for Spring rains, it hasn't rained for three months now. Love, K.
