I thought this chapter was very James Bond, stitched up with little bits of humor (when Helen calls Charles 'a horny old bastard' and 'ask room service for a magic lantern rub') and also intrigue, wondering how they're going to dodge the police. Nice quick thinking by Helen to darken Charles up and get him in that exotic get up. It's almost like Crosby and Hope in those pardon my sarong movies. But there is enough menace in the air, with Rasheed out there, and the police looking for two foreigners, plus the Lion. Very James Bond. estory

It?s getting progressively harder to maintain dramatic tension with, the jokey relationship between these two. I wonder whether there?s a comedy/thriller genre. I guess James Bond fits the bill. The Secret Life of Walter Mitty comes to mind, too. As always, I appreciate your comments.

Your chapter is well written, Tony. I really liked the descriptive words of the night I could picture it easily. I like Helen's plan--seems like it should work. I had my suspicions about Rasheed all along. It will be interesting to see if they are true, or if he is only a pawn in the mix. Thanks for sharing. Jan

Thanks, Jan, especially for your comments about the realism of the setting. I?ve never been to Pakistan, so am having to rely on research for the detail.

I hope their plan works and it doesn't rain. Losing your tan would be a hard thing to explain, lol. The chapter is well-written, very interesting start to finish. Your hook is perfect. I look forward to reading more.

I ought to experiment and see how easily this kind of tan washes off. According to the infallible (LOL) internet, it should last for a couple of days if you exfoliate first. Poor Charles! I hope that?s right.

This is hilarious. A mute manservant carrying her bags and following a step behind as would be expected of one. Was the tea used to colour his whole body as well? I hope they will be able to get on the train without a problem.

See you in the next chapter

As another reviewer remarked, I hope, for his sake, that it doesn?t rain! Thanks for the spag pick up. There?s always at least one. LOL Glad you?re enjoying the humour. All good wishes, Tony.

LOL, I would take full advantage if I was Helen. It's not often we get one over the men! (at least, that's what they think) I was beginning to think you weren't going to post again! This was brilliant, Tony, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Let's home the disguise works. :)) Sandra xx

I hope, for Charles?s sake, that it doesn?t rain! I guess that, in his position, he?d have no alternative but to hold an umbrella over Helen while he gradually became pale and streaky. Loved your review and super sixer. Thank you so much. Tony.

That's a great set up chapter to an arduous journey ahead. What a full book of characters each with their traits and countries. Great job

Best of luck with the rest of the book!
Have a great day and God bless.

I appreciate your review, Mike. The plot gets more convoluted as each chapter passes. I?m tying myself up in knots. Only a few chapters left to bring off the Houdini miracle. Thanks for your good luck wishes. I shall need them!

Helen is quite clever! I'm thinking this is going to work for them long enough to get them out of there and on their way to their desired destination. This is another well penned addition that is a pure delight to read an follow. Well done and thank you very much for sharing it.

Another intriguing episode on the Indian sub-continent.Seconded to MI6 surely, rather than by, I think.

There are advantages to looking like a letterbox apparently. Is the mute thing a bit contrived? It seems to crop up in a lot of mystery stories but how common is it. I have met one in my whole life, a sbelf stacker in my local Sainsbury's.

Despite my doubts I feel the disguise is going to get them safely away.

Thanks, Jim. Perhaps Helen and Charles are clutching at straws, trying to pass him off as being dumb, but he?d only have to open his mouth to give himself away. I just hope he doesn?t tread on a nail.
