Ciao mystery Poet, I gave you your 6th vote.
I like your original take on the subject " unearthed"
Instead of focusing on something buried in the ground you talked about the courage of this heroine that had been " buried" /...hidden so to speak.
This heroine that fights dragons reminded me of a cartoon I watched in the 80s : Lady Oscar
She was of noble status but grew up as a boy and became a soldier before the French Revolution.
She became a heroine of the people and she dressed like the heroine in the pic you provided.
Lady Oscar had blonde long hair though but she was a pro with the sword.
I'm not sure if this cartoon showed in the USA?
Anyways, I enjoyed reading about this heroine and her courage against a foe so terrifying .

Hola, thanks for the review and support. I do not recall that cartoon but anything that bolsters young female minds to be warriors I love. It was a fun write and dedicated to a dear friend facing some dragons of her own, cheers.

It may not have aired in the States ..it was a big hit in Italy ..if you have time google it .
" Lady Oscar cartoon " ( there is also a film ) .
I think it was a Japonese production.
I believe it was based on a true person.

This meets the contest requirements splendidly as you incorporate the theme well into a piece of poetic art that is within the line count guidelines. I enjoyed this fantasy piece as it is well written and a clever approach to the challenge. Good luck in the voting and thank you very much for sharing it.

Thanks for the kind review. I wrote it for a friend of mine undergoing surgery, just wanted to remind her of her warrior roots. Cheers.

Congratulations on this fantastic piece. The image you've chosen complements your poem nicely, but I question the choice of background color. Good luck with the competition!

Good call. I had different artwork and forgot to change color for new art. I matched it with her stylin' mustard pants. Thanks for the review and sparkly stars to light my way. Cheers.
