Absolutely true! I read the review of this poem by LisaMay, and quite agree with her saying (I quote) "Dean was always willing to offer guidance or a listening ear to anyone, with individual attention and sincerity." He never came for a "drive-by" read, to drop some fluff and grab some member dollars... When I saw I had a review from him I sat up and paid attention because I knew what I was about to read would be of value and would help me be a better writer. His own writing, use of music, exquisite graphics--well it set him apart and made me want to reach beyond my present skills. I thanked him a lot...I wish I'd told him how special he truly was when he was with us!--Karenina

What a gem of a 5-7-5... topical, accurate, beautifully presented. And a strong message - not just about Dean himself, who will be missed by many, but his kind influence will also be missed unawares by many who never knew him on this site. Because his sincerity and equality of approach is rather rare - it seems that many reviewers settle for big bucks and sycophantic flattery or dashing off repetitious reviews. Glad you wrote about Dean, so did I. No, his reviews were personal for everything he read. Such a wonderfully gifted writer, friend and also he was a Christian grappling with thoughts of dying and what to expect.
