I love the last line. I've never thought of snowflakes being scared. I welcome snowflakes - much easier than ice! And we always need the moisture. Thanks for the poem. Good luck with the contest.

This is a lovely and elegant poem about the season of Winter, with an appropriate image to match. It actually reminds me of a "Seasons Greetings" card that you would see around the holidays.

Although the whole thing is compose of simply three lines, my favorite is the third where you use the word "scared" to describe snowflakes. It paints a great image in the reader's mind. Nice write!
