I enjoyed reading this. It's a fun piece {smiles}.
I particularly like how you've used the "100-yard dash" rather than the more obvious "100-metre sprint" here; it just seem more befitting of the expression "Dash it!" {smiles}.

Thanks for your review. I had to use the same word to begin and end the little story, so I used one that had a couple of meanings.

A very well-written twenty-nine word flash fiction. The author trained hard to win the race and then a bee got up into his nose while running the hundred yard dash, ending not winning the race.
