Aww, this is such a sweet little poem. Off matches needing to make perfect sense of each other. I really like this lighthearted and well rhymed poem. The picture is perfect and the list of contents are well thought out. Lovely :-) ~DD

A simple poem that shows shows how both sides of a partnership rely on each other to survive. Loved the humorous side to it, had me enthralled until the end. Well done

I could be wrong, but I have a feeling that one rhyme is a bit far-fetched. Also, for me it would be easier to read if it was in verses. Good luck in the competition, I think it shoould do well.

Thanks for your feedback and the good luck wishes, Katherine :) I appreciate both...
Just out of interest, which rhyme did you think was far-fetched?!
Kindest regards, Debra :)

Keys and cheese - it's very accent-sensitive compared to the others.
I spent many very happy years near Skipton, the gateway to the dales.

Hi Katherine :)
Thank you... I always like to know what works or doesn't for the reader!
Skipton is a lovely place. Yorkshire really is a beautiful part of the world :)

I really enjoyed this poem; it is delightful. You have very creatively
used a widely-varied list of metaphors to convey the theme that the speaker needs her significant other--that people need people!

Well two's company and three's a crowd but I'd buggered if I know what four is! Strange how some things just fit together and you just wouldn't have them any other way, like the perfect combo you know the white whine with the fish and all that... yeah just imagine sea bream with harvey's bristol cream, just doesn't have the same ring to it right? Simple but effective write you have here and we all love our pairings and other halves all the time... don't we?!!? Looks side to side sheepishly :)
