A beautiful offering I can barely log into Fan Story let alone write. I will post mine when I can write again... I was already dealing with my fathers birthday and anniversary of his passing being 10 years so it's going to take me a bit to get my bearings. Thank you for placing something so perfect that describes him so well and I have this picture of him with Gidget too. You capture all the reasons Dean was a beautiful, strong, talented and elegant man!

I know you are very heartbroken, Lady Fonda... and I am so very thankful for your dropping by to review this one... :) ;) I look forward to reading your offering when you feel up to it, Beautiful Lady -- I am hoping that is soon as I am just getting out from under the beginning of the year 'pinch'! ;) :) Thanx for those beautiful stars and for your wonderful spirit that you always offer in your reviews! ;) Take care of you and I'll be seein' ya soon! ;) Yvette

You're last stanza gave him a title he deserves and a good play on words about the theme of his horror poetry. The four H's characterize him well.
He and his words will be missed.
Keep writing
Joan

Hi Yvette,

Well-said. Dean was a one of a kind type of poet. I always read his posts with great caution. That sort of thing gives me nightmares. Still, you are so right that nobody could match his expertise. He will be missed and Fanstory will never be quite the same without him.

Joy xx

Your kind and generous poetry deserves the 6. I'm sure he was planning a macabre death by the tone of his works. He sent a chill up us ladies spines. He was a great writer. God wanted to bless him, but Satin got there first!

Thanx so much for this awesome review, Jan -- It was important to me to put something in Robyn's book since Dean was the first to make me feel like I could actually write poetry...at least enough to keep trying. :) Oh, the patience that man had!! ;) ;)
As I've told others, I've begun to go back and read some of his classics each evening when I finish up work... back home in New Orleans, we mourn on the way to the cemetery and celebrate their life on the return and from then on.... Well, we've all had our time to say good-bye and now it's time to celebrate his life!! ;) :) As such, I will be celebrating his wonderful wit and contributions on a regular basis!! ;) :) Pretty sure he would have liked that part a whole lot better any way! ;) :) Thanx again for the review, ma'am, and for those lovely stars!! Dean really was a uniquely talented soul! ;) :) Take care and have a wonderful weekend! ;) Yvette

Dean, who I never met in person, but interacted with sporadically over the last six years, I find your tribute to be very honest and if anything, uplifting. Thank you for putting a face to so many creative works of poetry and writing. Sideline: would you know of a website where I could find out more about Dean? Best wishes.

Thanx so much, Victor, for this awesome review -- really means a lot to me! ;) :) And, no, I wish I had an answer for you, but the only interaction I had with Dean was via our messages/reviews here on FS. I think he was on Facebook and Robyn mentioned that his brother got an account to just see what was happening (I wrote him and he'll tell you right up front he's not a writer...lol!) His name is Jeffrey C -- perhaps he could help out in this department. ;) :) Hope you have a great weekend, sir -- take care! :) Yvette

A great tribute to a great Fanstorian. While I'm not a fan of the horror genre, I cannot question the quality of his writing. Tonight I'll offer a drink to Sir Dean in the knowledge he made Fanstory a better site. RIP Dean.

I think that's exactly what Dean would have wanted, Bob -- he'll probably celebrate with you if he can find time...LOL! You know, Dean was the first to make me feel like I could actually write poetry...at least enough to keep trying. :) ;) ;)

This is a lovely tribute to our dear departed friend. There are so many excellent poets we have lost. Each has made a great contribution to the Fanstory we have today. Thank you for sharing this, my friend~debbie

I really like how you have made the main points in each verse stand out brightly in red. I remember him telling me about Gidget, they sure looked happy together. Beautiful Poem my friend

Great tribute to "Sir Dean, Chevalier of Scare," Yvette. I wish I could write like he, but I scare too easy. :) Sometimes, after reading and hearing his poem, I couldn't get it out of my head. So, wherever he is I'm sure he is scaring Poe with his poetry. :)

A moving tribute to Dean, where you put forward some of his most touching qualities and writing skills. Your poem is well structured with flowing rhythm, vivid images that you bring to mind and poignant references to Dean. Great job!
