Hi Sally You do Dean justice in your tribute and he was light and dark but also very sound in his belief and I hope he is at peace and we will always remeber him for such a terrific writer and FS friend Cheers Christine

A beautiful tribute to a good man who really affected so many folks. Can you imagine living that kind of life? What a gift! This was truly special, dear friend. Thank you!

(Though I think that would be in the haiku-genre, not tanka.)

A wonderful tribute to Dean. He also jumped in to review a couple of mine which surprised me as I considered him a notch above where I write. You have certainly done him justice here and I am sure he is grinning from above!

This is lovely.
A tribute full of respect and gratitude. I'm sure Dean would've appreciated it no end...
I really enjoyed reading the prose of your haibun - it's lovely to read the history of your relationship with Dean. The poem at the end is beautiful, as is the photograph.

Thanks for so much for honoring this great writer reviewer and port with us. His legacy will be remembered, is it it becomes obvious how many people he touched the lives of here and I'm certain another place is also from being a marine to a rider to an angel. Wonderful Pros great entry and memorable piece for this sad occasion. May you continue to be blessed and right here in this wonderful space where Dean will be missed.
