He really was a very special poet here and he was always so warm and welcoming to newcomers. I appreciated how he broadened my horizons in genres to review.

I felt close to Dean in many ways. We both have serious sleep problems and were often on FS in the middle of the night together. We also both had special dogs and he sparked my interest in writing terror. We shared an interest in Japanese poetry as well. Thanks for sharing this, my friend~Debbie

Your wonderful review is heartwarming, Debbie. I'm so glad you had close contact with Dean and greatly appreciated him and shared several interests. Peer support is never overrated. This is a time of grief for many who connected with him.

Yes, you are right, Janet.... many of us have not been around long, yet Dean was so very unique that he stood out no matter what! ;) Great offering, ma'am! ;) Yvette

You have brought sunshine to my day, Yvette. The dark clouds have hovered over many since the announcement was made. I didn't really know, Dean, but I am still able to feel the great loss of his absence from FanStory. XOXO

-I really appreciate the
poem, presentation, and
your thoughts, Janet.
-He was a one of a kind writer.
-It is sad when a member
of a community like this one
leaves us, but we have to
believe he is at peace.

He had a very large following and I am sure his family takes some comfort from all the heartfelt responses. Thank you for your kind comments, Pam. XOXO Janet

Yes, he did have a large following, and I agree with you about the family taking comfort. You are very welcome for the review.

This sight overflows with exceptional talent. It is such a good place to be learning about new forms and taking advantage of the opportunity to read the output of such creative minds. :-))

Such a lovely tribute to him. He often reviewed my work and was always so kind about it, and was a fantastic writer with his horror poems. He will be missed.

Truly he will, and by many!

Well said. He'd been here for a long time. His last post was recent, so I assume he went suddenly. I suppose we'd all like to be writing and reading unto the end and FS is, as you said, a caring community. I still miss folk I knew here years ago.

It is sad when we can no longer read any new things by such talented people.
