Shen people drink the think they are capable of driving not realizing till they hurt or kill somebody. Sitting in jail for the rest of their life for taking another's like. The never learn.

This is a thought-provoking poem aimed at reducing drunk driving. That also happened to be my first regular paying job out of college (calling for donations for Mothers Against Drunk Driving), and the image of a car traveling like a bullet really is impactful. The image of so many swarming like bees also reminds the reader that people have a tendency to do this even when limits exist. Not sure what to improve on.

Hi Willie :)
Your poem delivers such an important message.
Too many people are injured and/or killed at the hands of drink drivers.
It is not acceptable to get behind the wheel when alcohol has been consumed and the sentence for doing so should be more severe than it is.
Your poem is hard hitting and well put together. Sound rhyme scheme and nicely presented.
Best wishes, Debra :)

Thanks for your comments. I was a motorcycle sergeant during my
thirty years with the San Diego PD. I saw too many deaths and injuries. Thank you for the stars.

    You're welcome, Willie...
Years ago, a good friend of mine died at the hands of a drink driver. She was only 24years old and 4 months pregnant. The culprit only served 2 years of his 4 year sentence before he was released from prison for 'good behaviour'. It stinks...

It seems to me his bad behavior, driving while drunk, should outweigh his good behavior while locked up.
