This is beautifully penned, Dawn and a lovely story of the importance of faith. There have certainly been times in my life that I questioned whether God was there, or at least if he cared about me. With the recent upheaval of my life, I don't know how I could have coped without faith. Best wishes in the contest, my friend~Debbie

A very well-written short story about faith in our Lord not only when everything is going our way but even more when we are facing difficult times He is waiting for us to reach out.

Your dialogue is quite realistic and touching. Our heart goes out to Jess and the picture you selected reinforces the mood well. Best wishes in the competition- Joan

A wonderful offering for the contest, Lady D -- love that you've taken the opportunity to present a situation of witness in such a typical 'young person' style... :) :) Great idea to reach more than just a contest audience -- thanx for sharing and best of luck! ;) Yvette

So true, He knows what is in our hearts even before we get upset and ask for forgiveness. What a perfectly told story with dialog only, the interaction is perfect

I experience this kind of reaction to God every day in the chemo clinic and hospital. So few people realize that it is the ONES He loves the most that suffer the greatest trials simply because He will knows we have the strength and He knows we will inspire others with it. Well done and thank you very much for sharing it.

When times are hard and everything seems to be going against us, it's hard to have a positive attitude or believe that we are not being singled out for bad luck, karma, or whatever you want to call it. Your dialogue only post is done well ends well with comfort of the mom. Marilyn

It certainly would not be the time to turn from God. Even cancer is no match for Him. We're prone to say thank you in good times, and forget when under pressure, but He's what brings us through it. Good luck in the contest.

How true to life your story is, Dawn. We do tend to take things for granted, going merrily on our way until we reach a point of crisis that becomes a wakeup call. How Quickly we learn to pray at that hour. How lucky we are to have a Friend who has promised never to leave us. He forgives and listens. Good job. Nancy:)

The story and the dialogue meld together and bring out so many visuals. Cancer can deflate the most devout persons. Your story speaks of the horror and the salvation of God.
