Your little poem is a piece of perfection in its capturing of the essence of curiosity. The genuinely inquiring mind holds no judgement, just an innocent awareness of wanting to know something... no agenda. I adore the accompanying photo.

As such, it is why it must be protected from those who take advantage of the curious... :( ;( A wonderful and poignant offering for the contest -- best of luck at the polls! ;)

This 5-7-5, Innocence, has the right set up and reminds us that we learn only what we don't know and know only what we believe is true. New things are the light of learning.

Very powerful poem. And the photo you picked perfectly illustrates what you were saying in only 17 syllables. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and hope you do well in the contest.

This is an absolutely wonderful 5-7-5 poem. It sends shivers down my spine. I have written multiple poems about the innocence and gentleness of deer. I hate hunting them for sport. Thanks for the support on that front. But, you take my deer theme a big step forward. You speak to the essence of curiosity. That is sheer genius to do that in 17 syllables.
Well done for sure.

I like this 5-7-5 because it also sounds like it could be the beginning of an even longer poem, it is that strong. I get consonance with "unbiased" and "keenest" and the "ur" sound repeated in "pure" and "curiosity." The photo is classic. Thank you for entering!

How cute is this? The little boy is curious about the deer. The deer is curious about the little boy. Neither one seems to be scared of the other. good job!
God bless!

The innocence of a child is a beautiful thing .. It's a shame that as we grow up we lose it.

Not knowing about danger, death or evil.

....it's tragic that some sick people take advantage of children's innocence to do them hard.

In only eight words you revealed a great truth.

A great topic, a lovely read with a great illustration.

....unlike most kids I never wanted to grow up.

I remember when I turned 10 I cried because having two digits made me feel " old "..some how I knew growing up didn't mean being able to do what one wanted finally ( which is what most kids think).

I think your entry will appeal to the sensibility of the committee.
