This is a very well written short work, I will have to look up the form for a Zanka, as I have not come across this one before, your words certainly tell how from the depths changes do occur to our surroundings, with movements below, very well done****kahpot

Tanka with a Z. It?s like a 5-7-5 being a haiku with no rules. Happy day.

Bill, This is a very interesting and well worded poem using the zanka format. Is this format kind of like the pranka format? The art work you chose was very colorful and neat! Blessings, Teri

Hi Bill, Is your Zanka a Tanka by any chance? I know that there are a ton of forms out there that I haven't yet heard of, and many of them named similarly, so I'm asking. In any case, I like it... it's very primordial... and full of ooze... which is pretty much back where we're all heading. ;)

Tanka comes with a few limitations and potential failings, whereas a Zantac is as good as you want it to be. : )

If I recall correctly, a zanka is a kind of twist on a tanka poem. I like this one because it says a good statement about the cycles of life on Earth. It's good to be reminded that life on Earth is always changing, and that none of it should be taken for granted.

You're welcome, Bill.
Comment from Gloria ....
A zanka, and just when I was becoming familiar with the pranka.
This little verse actually has in truth great depth, and it is fascinating to ponder on the percolating sea, where so many new acreages emerge.
Really enjoyed this one. :)

It's probably spelled with an X. :)

Ever wonder what is out there in space, or the depths, still to be discovered? New possibilities need to be explored. Well crafted poem depicts its theme spot on.

Very cool! I'm not sure what makes the tanka a "zanka" but I like how our focus is in the middle line changed from the invisible depths to the "percolating sea" and new lands appear after the eruption.

Comment from Loren .
I very thought-provoking post, Bill. Depths of vastness calls to mind what God must have seen at the beginning of His creation of the universe. And it follows with your poem that it was to bring about an awareness of born territories. And then to wait to see how we cultivate and live in them. Loren
