I believe what the bible says that "all things work together for good to them that love God". Sometimes we learn more from our mistakes than from our accomplishments. I enjoy the message in your poem and the caution against taking things out on others. Thanks for sharing!

I regret the delay in responding, but the Baltic cruise ship had an unstable internet signal. Just got back home and have lots of catching up to do.

I admired your "steppingstones" metaphor and your reminder not to hurt others. Smiles- Joan

Hello Patricia, I hope your feeling well. :) I really like the sentiment behind this poem and would like to think that this is the reason that some people can be so... wretched. Sometimes you just have to give up.

This is a good prayer that if answered would bring a safer and more peaceful world. It we would just help instead of hurt each other than acceptance would be more often procured;
Keep writing

A very well-written free verse poem about the stepping stones in life that became precious through the hard lessons we learn to acrept ourselves and treat others with respect and dignity.

So true. If we don't learn from our mistakes but criticizes ourselves instead we will get nowhere in life. Your poem is very well-written has a nice flow, great words of wisdom for sure.

I believe that is why God allows us to think for ourselves. EVen though He knows what we will decide in life, He also wants us to know the consequences and rewards.

I love your words here and it has encouraged me to give more understanding to my mistakes as we all make them and feel guilt, but as you say they are our building blocks to learning, I enjoyed your wise words Patricia, love Dolly x

Well done. Too often we don't learn our lessons or we blame others for our problems rather than accepting responsibility for what we've done. I hope I have learned from my mistakes.
