Great job in describing what it might be like in those last minutes on earth from a place of physical trauma, and last farewells to entering into the Lord's arms.

Your story opens the imagination as all good prose should do. Your tale can be interpreted in many different ways. I think the image helps to complement your work.

I enjoyed reading your contest entry, Sally. Good job with the selection of your topic. You expressed your thoughts/feelings well. Your words flow smoothly and provide comfort to those in that position and their families knowing their loved one is in Heave Best wishes. Jan

Hello Sally. That is a bittersweet yet promising story of what happens to a Christian that leaves this world. When we leave, we leave others. They face the sadness of the departed but also the joy of knowing the promise to every believer. It is beautifully written. As I was reading, I was thinking of The Oldham named I'll Fly Away." Z

Dear Z, thank you very much for the outstanding review and generous six stars. I?m glad you could appreciate this and saw into the deeper meaning. It is our promise and hope as believers to be with Christ when we quit our bodies.

First, I am glad you are still here to write this gripping fictional account of possible events at the time of your demise.

Because these vivid details came to you recently as a vision, the purpose may be both to reassure you of your family's love for you and to comfort you that such a transition will be painless and in accordance with your faith. It may also be a nudge to be certain your papers are in order. I'm certain you need no reminder to hug those closest to you or tell them what they mean to you. Also, King will need to see and sniff to know your spirit no longer occupies the empty husk you leave behind, else he will not understand why you vanished.

More importantly, when two people have been as close for so long as you and Jackson, the one remaining is at immediate risk; so I hope you two have discussed with each other and your family how best to deal with that circumstance. As I am a friend to both of you, please tell him he may call me if he just wants to talk to someone other than family (at any time, day or night).

Your presence here at FanStory has brightened many a day for those who know you through your writing. You can be sure you will be missed, though rereading this story may be of some comfort.

Every person is unique and irreplaceable. All we can do is cherish the positive memories of the lives which touched our own. You will live on in the hearts of all who knew you.

By writing this story instead of bottling up the emotions evoked by your vision, you have performed a public service to all who read it. Superb. That is exactly what good writers do -- change others' lives through words on a page.

Dear Mike, thank you so much. My family and I share this deep faith and have walked through four deaths five deaths together since my mother in 2002. We value each day and every moment together and spend our times together enjoying each other?s company. If I really did die tonight, they all would know how much I love them and what my wishes are. I am confident I will see them in heaven and wait longingly. I?ll introduce my family to you and we?ll have a grand time. Thank you for the kind review and lovely words. It is so appreciated.

You are most welcome, Sal. I am glad your family is so closely knit and as emotionally prepared as is possible in advance. Thank you for the introduction offer too. :))

A few have had that dream Sally, a place of inexplicable beauty, sort of, like earth, but like it's on beauty steroids, it has to be like Earth, because the Lord's prayers contain the words, "like it is in Heaven". Every heavenly encounter has had that element, thank you for illuminating that again Sally, beautifully written my friend, blessings, Roy

As we age and have to deal with the difficulties of life, often we think about leaving this place to arrive in the arms of Jesus.

Goodness, Sally. At first I thought how could she be writing this if she's passed on. That doesn't make sense It was so realistic. Then I thought maybe its a real-life death experience. Then, after I calmed down, I saw it was a fictional account for a contest. So glad you're okay! And best of luck in the contest. This reads like a winner to me and what a beautiful experience awaits us all. Loren

Thank you very much for the wonderful review and gracious six stars, Loren. I am so pleased you liked it, and yes, I?m still here. I hope you listened to the attached song because it is truly beautiful. I have been enjoying it for weeks on end. Being in Jesus?s arms is a wonderful thought, but more than that, it is a promise that we are to be in His presence the moment we depart our bodies. The Bible says, ?to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.?
    Yay!! Thank you, again.

Hello Sally,
How can something so traumatic sound so peaceful at the same time?
This is a dramatic flash fiction that whilst it is full of angst, it is also brimming with wonderment.
I enjoyed the read.
Good luck in the contest.
Best wishes as always, Debra :)
