Hi Cindy,

Wow! The past came back to haunt him. I'm glad it turned out to be a prank. The poor man was on his way to having a heart attack. I guess there would never be any appropriate place to receive that kind of news. I stopped breathing just reading it.

I'm not seeing any humor in this type of prank, but I'm told the short flash fictiin stories should have a surprise ending. I think you captured the surprise moment in this little story. Well done.

Best wishes in this contest.

Joy xx

Thanks. A lot of people thought the prank was mean. Good thing it's just fiction. He did get a surprise tho, didn't he?

Scheme-a-Dream, a step beyond those exotic dancers, crazy telegrams and actors hired to be weird party guests. I guess this could be quite a scare for someone who sowed his wild oats with wine and women before DNA testing came out! Funny story, but has proven to be true to so many. I actually know of a couple of cases! Wishing you well in the contest.

Thanks. They do the telegrams and stuff too. I was at a company party once where an actress showed up and pretended to be the mistress in front of the wife and all his friends. The wife, of course, was in on it. I've heard of people finding siblings they knew nothing about when they ordered Ancestry DNA. It does sometimes prove to be true.

A good story of one hundred and fifty words with a great twist at the end...
pranking someone to believe he is the father of someone he has not seen ever. Poor man! Best wishes in the contest.

Happy Monday to you. Thank you for sharing your flash fiction story with us. To tell a story in just a hundred words is difficult, I think you executed well. Though that prank, not so funny. :) Good job and good luck in the contest.

LOL! The poor man could have had a heart attack and died! What a prank to pull on your husband or boyfriend. This is a really good contest entry, you have a whole story here in only 150 words, that's going some! Well done and good luck! :)) Sandra xx

Thanks. He might be a little mad at his fiance! I was at a company party once where an actress showed up and pretended to be the guy's mistress. That the wife went along with it made me wonder if there had been a couple of real mistresses. They didn't let it go on too long. They sang him a little song and let him know he'd been had.

POOR Larry. I suggest you put the sentence
There's a 99.97 chance you are the father.
into italics... Also not sure about the camera zooming in. This seems almost like stage direction. Fix up the spelling of the title and there you go!

WOW! That would be a low blow prank. You really kept the twist surprise until the very last sentence. The plot was well planned out and a pleasure to read. Don and Vicki.

This is not the kind a prank that you present to a man who isn't expecting anything close to this kind of news. I like how you've presented this with the build up to the unexpected conclusion. Great job and well done!
