Oh yes, a great finish off and so true too. Loved the 'barren desert she called home' and the desert artwork, beautiful pic, but also very barren. Works well in this flash fiction, as does the FS reference and what it gives to us. Enjoyed it Trisha,

I already spent all my sixes but the desert is a effective metaphor for a dying relationship. Your imagery is vivid and powerful and the entire piece is very well written. I myself have been struggling with many issues sand have benefited from self expression, so I can really relate to your ending.
