This is a very nicely composed Trinet, June. I identify with this. My son and I were talking about this very thing today--the house they grew up in. We're no longer there, but I hope the house is happy with the new people.

This trinet, If Stones Could Talk, using the 2-2-6-6-6-2-2 formatting, and tells the generational story that is literally housed in a structure which witnesses much.

These are significant words and I feel that about our Cathedral which was build around 824AD, if only it could talk it would have many tales to tell, I enjoyed the concept and sentiments, love Dolly x

I like your personification imagery. his literary technique draws the reader in. We've heard the time-worn expression if the walls could talk. You have gone deeper in meaning with your image of the stones. Stones were here generations long before we and will still be around generations when we have long gone. Stones have so many stories to tell from their own life. Imagine all they have witnessed over the millions of years they have been moved from placed to place either by the glacier or humans. I am voting for this one.

This trinet is so lovely and moving. I don't write good trinets, but I recognize them when I read them! You have effectively taken this couple full circle, to a peaceful old age.

Love old houses - this one is quaint. I like the poem cruising through the history of the place - or a place someone called home. Whenever we travel to the south on vacation, we explore ghost towns - I really like photographing the old houses.
Good poem.

This is a nice poem speaks if and only if stones could talk heartwarming stories about young love, marriage vows, sweet babies and more and they could tell of those who shared this home over the years; well said, well done. Liked and enjoyed the read. Keep Writing, Inspiring, Changing

I like your poem. Your word choice is descriptive and vivid. The poem creates images in my mind. The opening stanza is inviting and draws the reader in. Good job.

I have always wondered, when I look at an old house about all the stories that could be told about the lives that were lived there. Happy, sad, I'm sure there are many books that could be filled.

It would be so cool if walls could talk, maybe. There could be some things we wouldn't want to know about a house we buy. I lived in just two houses growing up. Most in one house that cost my folks $9000, their house payment was $61 a month. That wasn't so long ago and to think what houses cost now is crazy. Anyway, sorry, rabbit trail. This is very well done. Enjoyed the recounting of memories. I hope you do well in the contest. Rox
