I found this 5-7-5 poem very profound and poignant. So much portrayed in so few words. Nice one. I wish you lots of luck in the competition. Take care. Jen.

Such great words, safe and secure. The military and law enforcement keep us safe from harm's way. I've had many relatives in the military and am grateful for their service.

I'd agree with that neat little poem. Fortunately, I do feel safe most of the time... we live in a quiet place, although of course it's had its moments! I wonder if Eden was a safe-feeling place...

One can only hope you're right, or maybe, that you just may not care! My eyes can see the Eden, but yet, really don't believe. How could everything diverge from? Maybe only introspection can divulge...

Thanks for the review. I don't know how anyone can just not care about all the violence.

I find that a lot of poems that are written to suit a particular format do not make sense to me. It could be that I am not poetically enlightened enough :) This poiem made a lot of sense to me and I enjoyed it. I hope it fares well in the contest.

Yes, it is true that those of us that are far from the atrocities happening, are safe and blessed so we can say where we are is Eden. Hopefully those atrocities will diminish and we will never be prone to them; In a few words you have reminded some of their blessings.

This is a great poem that makes me realize that safe and secure is a fading reality in America. Where can people feel truly safe?
Apparently not at walmarts, concerts, mosques, schools, garlic festivals, yoga class, on public transport, restaurants, day care centres where our helpless children are exposed to random gunfire.
One writer wrote about his five year old son practised an active shooter drill on his first day of school.
Safe and secure certainly does seem like utopia these days. Cheers, judester

It is sad but true. It seems hardly anywhere is safe now a days.

Great job on this introspective poem!! The simple observation that living in peace and safety is like existing in a utopian environment is good and relatable. Well done on this verse.

Great poem on a very actual theme that needs to be addressed ! I love the three first lines, but I thought the fourth did not flow quite as well. I still loved the poem and hope you write some more about such themes !
