This is a very nicely composed nature 5-7-5. Nature's colors are striking. I'm not sure if this contest is finished, but this one deserves to win. Great job. Marilyn

Me too. I take photos and write about my beautiful yard all the time. Nature is so amazing.

As much as I find dragonflies an extraordinary insect I have to confess that my squirrel monkey Lolita found them very tasty.
She caught a handful in her life .. one was extra big , it's eyes were pea size .. It took her a few minutes to devour it .. Only the wings were discarded.
She caught a lot more damselflies ( easier to detect and catch) , a sub member that looks very similar to a dragonfly but is smaller and when in repose keeps its wings folded upwards.
The dragonfly lays them out flat when siting on a flower or leaf.
Your poem brought back cherished, warm hearted memories of our Summer months hunting with Lolita.
We had her for nearly 11 years.. Great experience.
She was on sale in a pet shop.
Luckily now there are more restrictions against exporting exotic animals around the world.

Your poem is a lovely portrayal of the playfulness of summer outdoors, playing hide and seek and noticing this gorgeous dragonfly, resplendent in blue glimpsed between the other garden colours.

When I was a kid, my older sister told me that dragonflies were called sewing needles and they would sew your mouth shut. To this day, I'm afraid of dragonflies.

How pleasant, nice, soothing and enjoying it is to see the dragonflies play hide and seek, glimpsing their blues, in the garden in summer; well said, well done. Liked and enjoyed the read. Keep Writing, Inspiring, Changing

This meets the contest requirements splendidly with a correct line and syllable count. The content is clearly nature driven as you express the playful antics of the dragonflies in your garden. Good luck in the voting and thank you very much for sharing it.
