As an Aussie myself i can connect with your poem. The rainbow serpent is an important mythological creature in creation stories, and your poem is a worthy addition to the mix, although you will perplex some folks with the colourful sox!!

Hi Lisa, I couldn't help myself with the sox! I think I have made up for it by writing 17 chapters on the Aboriginal Dreamtime. Thanks for reading new friend.

Yeah... let loose from time to time!

You did a great job, Aussie, with this legend. I enjoyed reading it. Your words/lines flow smoothly with great detail and imagery. The picture is super. Even if no picture had been included, your words create one for readers. I like the historical significance and learning about new cultures. Thanks for the notes, too. Jan

I enjoyed this immensely. I love hearing about Australia's legends and you present them in such a fascinating way. I am terrified of snakes and wouldn't do well in the Australian wild. Very nice work with this one. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Thank you Sasha. We grew up with the snakes, only in the country areas. Now I live on the Pacific Ocean. Yahoo! Thanks for reading. XXK.

So many ways to worship. Inspires me to strive to give thanks to the Creator for all that He gave. In the beginning all was good. Let us be good stewards of planet Earth.

Very well done Kace. A nice rhyme pattern and easy to read because of the comfortable flow. I enjoy poetry that tells a story and especially when they encompass folklore as in the case of the Aboriginals. Thanks.

A very well-written poem about a legend of Australia and the rainbow serpent that is believed to be responsible for making the rivers and then returned to the sky.

This is beautifully penned and a thoroughly delightful reading experience. I guess the reason snake's lack sox is that they seem to be missing the feet to put them on LOL. Well done and thank you very much for sharing it.

According to Australia's aboriginal legend, Yalunga, like Bahaime, in seven days, he made the rivers in many ways and returned to Creator in the skies; well said, well done. Liked and enjoyed the read. Keep Writing, Inspiring, Changing

K, I love the presentation of this poem. The picture and the brown colour background really adds to the earthy feel of this well written piece.
A very descriptive tale on the creation of deep rivers and a serpent wearing socks. All adding to the entertainment and enjoyment of this story in a poem. ~DD
