I've gotta love a poem with a wombat in it! The peacock met his bedraggled doom because of his sinful pride - your poem details a cute moral tale - let that be a lesson to us all, we are all equal.

The parable of the peacock - This sounds like a story Jesus might have told if he had lived in Australia instead of 1st century Palestine. I appreciate your reference to the great pride-before-fall of all. Good look with t he contest.

G'day Lindy Louie, Glad you liked the poem. I have been away to visit artists where I started a gallery 25 yrs ago. Thirty people put on a super morning tea for me. It was a very tiring journey with my carer driving - five hours driving didn't agree with me. But, it was on my bucket list of things to do. Done it now! XXK.

A good story in poem - I like the descriptions of the various birds and critters. Most interesting - I'm surprised that the peacock spread his tail in the rain. They are so beautiful.

Hi Gail, thanks for reading. He spread his tail before it rained. He was vain and showing off to the forest critters. Blessings, Kace.

First good luck in the 'Share A Story In A Poem' contest, Kace. This was great to read since it did have a great flow and rhyme pattern. It did tell a story of beauty and pride taking the reins and the price paid for it. Well done.

A very well-written story in a poem. A very true statement that no one can ignore. The ones who are full of pride and of themselves will fall tomorrow and they will never know what hit them.

This meets the contest requirements beautifully as you share a complete story (with a valuable life lesson to boot) in poetic form. I thoroughly enjoyed it and the peacock was certainly a more than appropriate choice for depicting the sin of pride. Good luck in the judging and thank you very much for sharing it.

"The Bush Telegraph", is an exceptionally well-written and deftly descriptive piece. This talented poet's work was a pleasure to both read and review. To me, this is a true six, but unfortunately I don't have any left. I look forward to seeing your next post.

G'day my friend. Thanks for reading. We are all guilty of being big-heads at some stage of our lives. Humility is a learned behavior. Hope you are traveling well. Love Kace.
