This is a super contest entry, Mystery Author. I enjoyed reading it. Your picture choice is a great pairing with your well-chosen words. The picture is serene in feeling and the words fit it to give the same feeling. Even if 'things' did not work as desired, the fisherman still knows and feels he is blessed in his life. I found had an excellent way of calming down and be content even if the fisher men didn't catch many fish.
I love the feeling that you gave your poem with these lines
My spirit's calm, my soul's at rest
although my catch was small today.
I sit transfixed by this display,
aware that I am truly blessed.
