I love this posting because it soothes one's heart and brings to mind an awareness that blessings are showered down upon us every day. I would love to be sitting in a boat right now just as it is being pictured in the painting you have wisely used to support your message. Best wishes in the contest!

I am so pleased I could ALMOST put you there in that boat on the lake enjoying the gorgeous sunset. Many thanks for your kind praise and support. Rod

In my opinion, a simply splendid poem in its summer revelry, lush in its golden pleasure - I was transfixed by this write, its gently beauty, peaceful calm and fluid rhyming rhythm- in perfect compliance with the prompt. Best wishes in the contest...

You're very welcome, Rod, my pleasure - sorry for my typo, "gently," versus "gentle"...Eve

Excellent in a condensed, concise poem about feeling at peace, contented, in spite of a "small catch" out on the water in a small dory. I get a sense of an implied metaphor, of course, that the sea is life. I feel like this is one of the two entries I like best in this contest.

I am delighted you enjoyed GOLDEN CONTENTMENT. Yes, I think the water is a metaphor for life. Hopefully, we can all find contentment in our daily lives. I am wondering if the other entry you liked best was my co-winner. Rod

I am always excited when you like one of my poems, Dolly. This is Nove Otto was more challenging for me to write than a sonnet, but fun. Do you write them, too? Rod

Being at peace and content is a rare commodity for many in this day and age. So much hustle and bustle. Everyone seems to be in a hurry. You've already set the stage and painted the picture for us. Take the time to smell the roses and draw away. I like the accompanying artwork and enjoyed reading this well written work. Well done.

Indeed, many find contentment a rare commodity. You have picked out my theme perfectly, Carpe Diem and "draw away." So pleased you liked the poem and the art. Rod

Being thankful for what you do have is more important than pining for something else or more. Even when things don't go our way, the Lord is there and that's enough.
Good luck with the contest!

Your knowledge of and mastery of this firm is beautiful, and captures the warmth of contentment in its images. I especially like the line, "The dory's prow sun-pointed west.

There are times I wish we could have a first, then second vote, a run off. I wish I could go back and add my vote to yours, to push it to the top.

Your picture, & poem remind me so much of "Pentimento" by Lillian Hellman. To paraphrase, it's something like "Old paint on canvas, as it ages, sometimes becomes transparent. As it does, one is able to see through the former lines. A boat is no longer on the open sea. This is called pentimento, because the painter (writer) changed their mind...

My regret that I am out of sixes. This short, lovely piece is perhaps one of the most lovely things I have read lately and highly deserving of a six. Short, soft, ethereal, lovely perfection. The artwork to match is perfect. It has perfection in the gentle flow of your word choice and the rhyme is wonderful. I LOVE IT! Great job and Good Luck. You have a bit of a masterpiece here, in my personal opinion. A joy to review this one and if anyone suggests changes, ignore them.
