Poetic description of a nectarine19 total reviews

How cleaver to take something like a nectarine and make a poem with it. I once read a book called The Art & Craft of Poetry, and in my favorite part of the book, where the author wrote about the poetic personality, he described how simple things of nature can become material for the creation of a poem. You've done that here. Well done!

Everything but the trite "blooming rose" and "love's kiss" references were very moving and original. I also liked the fact that you wrote about a nectarine. I can't recall anybody ever having written about this specific fruit. Yes, nectarines are spherical sunsets, aren't they?

Hi Henry
I enjoyed your charming poem, "Nectarine," with all the strong comparisons within it. Your imagery was very strong, with its emphasis on the senses. Great job! Good luck in the contest!

A beautiful poem and chosen artwork, though for a Tanka the form is 5-lines with a 5-7-5-7-7 syllable count, you may need to adjust this great work for this contest****kahpot

Thank you very much for reading my poem. I am awed by your wonderful stars. Yes you are correct about the number of lines, but the contest rules allow for additions as long as they follow the 57577 rule.

My apologies my friend, I am the one who needs to adjust (my glasses I think) ****kahpot

Nah, don't do that. Many read only the first few lines. I miss some also, to my regret.

I also love nectarines, they are juicy when ripe and fun to eat, full of vitamin C and at Christmas I love having them in my stocking! Your write likens them to the sunset, love Dolly x

This tanka is very well-written and lovely. You have made effective use of
specific details--lively similes--to describe this succulent fruit. The artwork is beautiful.

Can't say I like nectarines - they are so much firmer, harder than the succulant (sp) peach. But your poem is nice in comparing the aspects of the nectarine in so many visual ways.

Thank you very much for reading my poem. Your stars and comments are awesome. Right now, we have to hold them for two or three days until they are ready to eat. Don't buy them, unless their aroma is apparent.

From a nectarine and photo of a sunset, you conveyed poetically several of our senses and romance. How very creatively done. This is lovely in all aspects, your words and the photo choice. Great job and Good Luck!
Highly creative to use the nectarine as inspiration. Thinking outside the box in poetry-always a winning thing!

I like your poem. The words are colorful and descriptive. The words fit perfectly and unrushed. The picture is beautiful and fits the poem nicely.
God bless!
