Phew, I made it through. This was a bit over worked for me. It was choppy and didn't flow but the general idea was very creative. You are very extremely talented. Good luck with your entry, I'm sure it will do well.

Yeah...I thought some people might choke on it. My trouble was that I have read so many books that have had an impact on me i didn't know when to stop!! Thanks for suffering through it... I appreciate your comments. Lesson to me: 'Less is more'.

Whew, you musta been exhausted after writing this, but can also see where putting all of these works into one basket--and am sure there are many more--had to have been very cathartic!

I have done a lot of reading, so when I started jotting down some books that I remembered had an impact on me (and why I do some things now)... well, it just triggered a flow and I had to tell myself to stop, the poem was getting far too long!

Hello Mystery Poet,

I enjoyed reading your poem about book titles today :) You impress me with your ability to work the titles into the message so easily and smoothly. At least you made it look easy to me. I doubt I could ever do that. I even recognize a few of the titles. Some I have read but most I have not.

Best wishes to you in the voting booth.

Joy xx

Wonderful review, thanks so very much!
I used to read prolifically, not so much these days... it is coming out in my own writing lately.

Wow! It is amazing how you were able to incorporate so many book titles in this. This is a very clever poem in its construction. Very well done! This is a definite front runner for the contest :)

Okay, ma'am, this SO rocks... I popped in just to be sure I was your fan and here this was!! ;) Oh my goodness, this is great!! ;) ;) I can't wait til I get a chance to vote for it! :) My only regret is that I do not have a 6-er for you -- but my vote, you have!! ;) ;) AWESOME!! :) Yvette

P.S. Be sure to pop back in there and eliminate the gnome graffiti from your author notes. :) ;)

This is a clever poem with a lot of my favorite titles. If I didn't already have a stack of a hundred books at home, I would be reading some of the other titles you've mentioned that sound super interesting. Sincere best wishes in the contest!

I think most of us have those teetering piles beside our beds. You may have noticed that most of those books in my poem are older titles... I have such a backlog of 'must reads' that I haven't yet been able to get into more recent books! (Also too busy writing poetry.)

You're right...the problem with reading is that we aren't writing! lol

This is a very creative and clever offering for the contest! I personally haven't read all of these titles, but if you have - kudos! The way you have included them feels very natural and not contrived. Flows nicely. And the artwork is perfect. Should do well in the booths.

I read a heck of a lot, but you'll notice that most of these titles are older ones. I have such a stack of books by my bed that I am very behind with reading more recent books, plus I am writing so much poetry these days it cuts into reading time!

I wish I had 6 stars - this is marvelous. Now I don't even want to attempt this poem as you've got it sewed up. Well done - and frankly I haven't read half those books but I know of them as I'm a book dealer on the side. Very good - you wove in the titles seamlessly.

Thanks for this great review. I had to haul myself in when writing this... I am a prolific reader and suddenly realised I was making the poem far too long... and I could have kept going!!

BRAVO! This meets the contest requirements splendidly as you use the Titles poetically throughout to move seamlessly through your story of how they impacted your life. (Schindler's List pissed me off too LOL) Of all the ones I've read so far - this one is vote worthy. Good luck in the voting and thank you very much for sharing it.

That's a resoundingly affirmative review... thanks very much! I kept thinking of books I'd read and just kept going then realised it was getting ridiculously long. When I counted how many titles i'd mentioned, I was astonished it got to 60.

It is truly a stellar piece of verse AND moves along at a good pace keeping the reader engaged throughout.
