Your story is important for all those do not realize that they cannot spend yesterday they can not spend tomorrow only today is available to be enjoyed. "Spend the day with Nature. That memory will provide tomorrow.
Good message.

Great poem Jaybird.
I was working for a state agency in PA during Y2K. We were on high alert and it was like watching paint dry. (smile) And yes, we're still here.

I enjoyed your poem - brought back some old memories.

Blessings
Janet

Now and then we have been forewarned about the end of the world. imminent third world war and a comet hitting or any such disasters...but so far as you correctly said nothing has happened ..
world will go on...

Excellent, I would give this six stars if I had one left. The year 2000 had
many predictions, None of which came true. People forget or don't know,
"Not even the Angels in Heaven will know the time," Matthew 24:36.

Ha, this is fun Jay. I remember feeling grumpy that all the tech smarty pants didn't think about that when creating their built in clock. Because lots of us remember this little known fact that the Y1K problem caused the Dark Ages. Now we shall have to see what the delayed reaction for the Y2K problem will be--the Light Ages? I haven't seen any evidence of that yet.

I very much enjoyed your poem and I hope your day is going wonderfully well.

This poem really hit home for me because we have been studying Revelations in Church. verse by verse. I'm pretty sure the real devout Christians will be lifted up to heaven before the apocalypse.

I remember the transition that people made during the end of 1999 and the beginning of the year 2000. The story I love best is about the guy that bought a large generator for his house because he thought sure the electric company wouldn't be functioning. After 2000, realizing he had no need for the generator, he took it back to the implement store and they were going to charge him 25% of the cost for restocking fee. Instead, he took it home, gassed it up and used it much to his neighbors dismay. I am glad I didn't fall into that panic mode as many others did with stocked up water supplies and food supplies. Your poem brought back memories, pleasant for me but perhaps not so for others. Best wishes.

I'm a management consultant and was caught up helping clients prepare for the end of the world in 1999. A big to do about nothing. Good work. No edits or adjustments needed.

Oh, I remember how silly everyone was acting over this mess. I set on the balcony drinking a beer watching the neighbors panic lol. Media can certainly stir up a mess. Thank you for sharing.
God bless

Well, most of us survived the beginning of the new millennium, and none of us will greet the next one.
We should be concerned about happens in between.
Vote discriminately, if you know what I mean.
