The allure of blue eyes is something we all must face before we leave the earth's first floor and move down permanently into the basement. Many a quickie has been held in the various basements of earth. We all should submit to the allure of ice-blue eyes. - no matter where no matter when - Lobber

Who was the ghost in this delightful story, was it the elder Thomas or the young man she had to apologise to who was on the middle of the road? One of them had to be.
The other two girls that worked Craig House always stared at her oddly and giggled when she asked them about Thomas. There's only three of us assigned to this house, Cheryl!
So Thomas was the Ghost.
Best wishes in the contest.
Sylvia

Sweet little love story in a history setting. Ha! I wore a hoop skirt and remember what an unruly piece of clothing that was. This was fun and fresh and an excellent entry for the contest. Great job and well written. Sending you my best today as always, Sally xo

Oh, I worked the tours of the plantation homes back in Louisiana when I was in elem/middle/high school...different plantations and sometimes the churches and, one year, a Fort!! ;) ;) Thanx for the review and the smiles this morning, Lady Sal -- you and Jackson take care!! ;) ;) Yvette

What a great ending! When will she make the connection between this young man and her Thomas? I hope this one's not a ghost. Will there be more to this story?

I enjoyed your contest entry, YM. I like the historical setting. Your developed the characters well in this short, as required, piece. I wasn't expecting that ending, but it works well--gives those in love goosebumps. Thanks for searing and best wishes. Jan

Wow, you did a fantastic job with this Yvette. You described both Cheryl's job and the access she had to historic records as well as a great description of Thomas and his presence. Definitely good luck in the contest.

This meets the contest requirements splendidly with the correct word count and delivery of a complete and engaging story. Loved the way you approached this as the use of the historical site as the setting played nicely into the development of Thomas' character. Good luck in the judging and thank you very much for sharing it.

A very well-written flash fiction the ghost of the mansion seems to be transformed into a young guy who likes to go with Cheryl, wherever she is going.

That was brilliant, Yvette! Her ghostly friend is going to be around for a long time, methinks! I wonder, did she realise at the end that he was the ghost she'd unknowingly befriended? If she didn't then, I'm sure she will soon. That was a really good flash fiction story, my friend. Good luck in the contest. :)) Sandra xx

Oh, I'm so glad you enjoyed this one and THAT YOU GOT IT, Sandra!! :) ;) I'm thinking there aren't a whole lotta folks that think fantasy/supernatural because so many of these seem to confuse/not click with folks.. :) :) 'Tis fine as this is just the way the crazy blonde thinks - LOL! ;) ;) Thanx for stopping by, ma'am -- so glad to hear from you!! ;) ;) Yvette
