Our Love Song

That is a very nice and fun poem to read, and I enjoyed it a lot. But I think that the first line has 6 syllables instead of 5, and shouldn't a 3 line poem have 5 syllables in the first line? I could be wrong about both those things, but that is what I think. Good luck in the contest.

Hi sweetie! Yes this three line is 5-7-5 and the first line is only 5 syllables - we - write - our - love - song, each word is only one syllable :) but I?m happy that you ask questions! This is just like Haiku only for this contest, you can write on any subject. Thank for reading it and for your feedback xoxo
-
Oh, okay. I thought that our is a 2 syllable word, but thanks for telling me.
-
:) no it is one syllable same with hour! Even though it does kind of sound like it would be two. Same with brilliant - it is two syllables even though it sounds like it could be three. :) xoxo

Absolutely stunning. Your words and the visual you chose. This could almost be a marketable greeting card or poster in my personal opinion. Very appealing to the eye! Great job and Good Luck!

Thank you so much! I love color, so Jim Warren is one of my favorite artists! I like the idea of a greeting card - never thought about that! :) appreciate your awesome feedback on this. xoxo

Beautifully penned with lovely, colorful artwork, too. Another fine contender for a contest. My favorite time of day has become the sunset due to my sensitive retinas. I love the amber glow as it fades away.
Sending you my best today and for the upcoming contest, dear Diana.
Congratulations on you second place finish, too. Sweet.

-A wonderful painting
and very nice presentation, Diana.
-The syllable count is good,
and the use of one continuous
thought is effective.
-I like the idea in the poem
of writing your love song
based on "colors of the day"
and continues until twilight.
-Good luck in the contest.

Thank you, Pam! appreciate you enjoyed! I don't know if it comes through, but I'm trying to convey a love over a lifetime-from youth until older age. I was going to use "midnight" but I liked twilight better LOL!!
-
You are very welcome, Diana. I think that idea did come through, and I like twilight better, too!
-
awesome! thanks again Pam

You are quite welcome.

You have definitely captured the essence of that marvelous painting in your three-line poem. One wonders what instruments would be used to play these lovers' song. Rod

Hi Diana,
Lovely poem! Excellent word economy as you have used every syllable well. I liked the choice of having this as one continuous thought. It's very appealing. This should do well in the contest. Good luck!

Anupam

Very nice, I love the art, and the poem adds great value to the picture. It conveys the message, love songs one can sing wherever they find themselves with their beloved.
