I appreciated your reflections about the horrific events of 911 and your questions. I admired your rhymed quatrains and concluding with pondering what further action we should consider. Sighs- Joan

A very insightful poem that make a person look deeper inside and wonder what deeds of ours has caused hate in other parts of the world. A very smooth and thought provoking work.

So eloquently stated. You were examining the physical, social, psychological and the military response to a terrorist attack in America.

The author's words are meaningful, creative and thought provoking.
The author's notes pose a great question. The poem flows and
connects well. The reader pondered on the words and theme of this
poem.

That was a terrible day and one for which I think it's impossible to find a logical explanation.
Those people have no God. A good Muslim would never do something like that.
Thanks for sharing. Great poem.

Hi this is something that no one will ever forget. So many dead . Still a great many with glee are feeding their God on the blood of innocent lives.
Where do you think you will find them?no iraq, but more down the streets of New York City.

Yes, 911 will forever be in our hearts and our mind. It was a very somber time. Everybody banded together! Such shows of brother love and unity.. Yeh! Unity! Democrats and Republicans standing together singing .together. Fast forward to today! Anyway, I digress. Your poem is really good.

Hi Jaybird. That is an accurate portrayal of what Americans were thinking on 9/12/2001. The fear and apprehension of our citizens was overwhelming. We are still paying a price.

Hi Jaybird
I enjoyed reading your poem "The Wake of 911." The title is strong and definitely appropriate. I especially like the line "Does arrogance, wealth and freedom breed an anger we should have known?" Your choice of the word "breed" is perfect.

The only problem I have with this poem is the line "the market has stolen our purse." I assume your are referring to the stock market? Also, I don't quite understand how this really fits into this poem.

Overall I really enjoyed your poem. Very direct and powerful.

Susan

9-11 was an horrific day for our nation and one none of us will soon forget. To go to war was in hindsight maybe a fools folly, because terrorists like those are not a standing army where we know the enemy.

They are tuned to some other (G)od. Make the g lower case here.
