I must say I am really enjoying the story so far. The love this pair share is rare. I also have to say the writers are very talented as well! The poetry is excellent and the short story as well. You are writing a novel but you are poets and short story writers as well.

A fine addition to this on-going love story. Sounds like there's plenty to be both excited and worried about here. Nice mixture. Still a lot of great writing and plenty of tense moments.
Some notes:
1.) "Hurrah, that's my Billy!" He got those qualities from me, Cathy!
--> no q marks in the middle
2.) along with me," he continued. (")I still like to read his stories,
3.) I thought. "Why not? Oh, I know! It's because of the flame from the lantern.(")
