Your love of gardening comes through abundantly in this poem, along with your skill--the cut flowers are magnificent! I enjoyed all of your rhymes and repeats. You got my "oh"! Smiles- Joan

How beautiful, Melissa, both the arrangement and the rondeau!! :) Out of all of my husbands various day lilies and such, my favorite are always the tiger lily just because they are so unique!! ;) ;) Just love your use of 'I'll turn the Earth' as your repeat on this one ... perfect and metaphorically intriguing! ;) ;) Thanx for sharing! ;) Yvette :)

Hello Yvette, I thank you for the great review. I enjoy the lilies and their bright faces and was caught up in using them in a verse. I am delighted that you liked it!!

That is lovely. Looks like a painting. I must say I don't share your love of gardening, but I hope I can at least enjoy the results with those beautiful flowers. You are in on it from the very beginning, turning the soil, planting the seeds, and then watching them grow. I can see the pleasure you get from it. Beautiful work with your poem. judi

You're very welcome. As Chauncey the gardener said, "I just like to watch." judi

A very well-written Rondeau about turning the earth when new seeds are planted. The time when you can harvest your hard work is bitter sweet the beautiful flowers from those tiny seeds.

Mom almost named me Helen, but she decided on Nancy:) I do like the name Helen best though. This is a lovely Roudeau, Melissa. Great picture but the bouquet is too large for the table. The diners wouldn't be able to see each other to carry on a conversation. LOL I agree, cutting gardens are great. Nancy:)

Lovely poem and great title. The picture is wonderful too.
I love my garden, but the truth is I don't devote much time to it. It's a bit like a forest...
Thanks so much for sharing.

Loved your poem about turning the earth. So good to get close to nature. I just dug out some Bok Choi for dinner!
Pity those who have no thought to look after a garden of God's living plants. Well done friend.

This is a really skillfully-written, appealing poem. Your word choices convey a joy in working with the earth and watching as it yields the
intended results.

Lovely words, lovely picture, lovely rondeau! Gardening fulfills our basic need to plant and reap the fruits of our labors, whether it's fruit, vegetables or flowers. I love irises and lilies! Well done.
