Lol! What a good sport you were at such a tender age to come through and fill the part of the scarecrow for the show! Enjoyed your fun poem. I think you should try ballet again. Or yoga?

Lyenochka, you are too cute! Since both knees need replacing I doubt seriously I will try either, but thanks for your comments. They are much appreciated.

This is just a delightful poem, Katharine -- and a very original and unique offering for the Dance contest! :) I love that, more than anything, that you hung in there and 'nailed' the part you were given.... and, wanna know something? I auditioned for the ampitheater production of the Wizard of Oz when I was in high school (Senior year, I think) and I wasn't a trained 'singer' but apparently I was animated enough that I got the one part that didn't have to sing.... the Wicked Witch!!! ;) ;) LOL!! ;) ;) Thanx for sharing and best of luck at the polls! ;) Yvette

One of the great nieces has tried all kinds of dance, even ballet. When they did their exhibition, there were some overweight girls (sisters) in the show, and they did very well. The performed for a few years, but didn't seem to lose any weight. If you were a "beanpole" you were fortunate, as you were bound to fill out. The dance classes were a great experience for you, and it's an honor to have any part, even that of the scarecrow. That made a great ending for your poem. Very enjoyable, and great rhyme and flow.
