-Gorgeous image, Melissa.
-One time we had an
Indigo Bunting; it is not
native here on the East Coast,
but it was gorgeous to see,
and the sky matched it in color.
-The syllable count is good,
and the use of one continuous
thought is effective.
-A very good, positive
message in your poem.
-Thanks for sharing.

Your sunflower Cyclops sees all Melissa!
Very nice and thoughtful verse. Love may indeed conquer all. Getting a new perspective is a better place to be for all of us. Our Congress should take note.

This poem is the happiest of happy places --all bright yellow and full of cheery thoughts! In fact, I'm going to bookcase it and keep it close by as a uplifting reminder of a VERY important concept. My 'happy place' isn't so much a place as it is a collection of things: small notebooks filled with the delightful things my students have said throughout my 38 years as a teacher. Like this one: "If the president were a dwarf, it would be a lot harder to assassinate him." Or how about this one: "Do you think anybody could resist a boy wearing overalls who's selling chocolate? 'Cause I have to sell chocolate tonight...and I AM wearing overalls..." Or: "I'm leaving my shirt open today. It makes me look like a real guy."
See what I mean? You can NOT be unhappy after reading even just a few of these --and I have 38 little notebooks FULL!
Thanks for the happy reminder of how to be happy. Totally delightful Senryu. xo

Good morning, Diane!! I really like walking through the garden and seeing all of the new things that are popping up. I liken it to a treasure hunt. I knew you would like this verse with the cheerful message. I wish you a blessed day in your happy place!!
